From the Principal's Desk
My Senior Managers and I, as leaders, have the responsibility to cast vision, set direction and make things happen. For 2008 the College has identified some key target areas to be focused on as we strive to live up to our slogan: Great place, Great choice for lifelong learningBelieving as we do in taking education and training to the people, we plan to establish more satellite campuses in some of the more strategically located towns within Thabo Mofutsanyana District (e.g Ficksburg, Reitz, Vrede). We are in the process of reviewing our strategies with a view to strengthening our Business Unit so that it becomes an even more effective generator of additional revenue for the College. Our success in this endeavour will guarantee that the College will become more sustainable financially. Frankly speaking, we at Maluti are not at all happy with our 2007 national examinations' results. We are busy identifying appropriate interventions to address this challenge. Early in the year, we shall evaluate our performance against the 2007 College Work Plan. This evaluation will then serve as a basis for the development of the 2008 College Work Plan. Our most daunting challenge remains the building of an own campus complex at Harrismith. To this end, we made a submission to the Department seeking permission to interact with the Development Bank of Southern Africa to access funds for the project. |
